You could have experience as a development manager or be a proven and experienced Surveyor or Civil Engineer familiar with Land Development and the subdivision process. As a Development Manager, you will be involved in and responsible for all aspects of the development process from conceptual design and feasibility studies to detailed design, contract management and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivery of large multi-lot land development projects
- Feasibility Studies
- Master planning and urban design
- Managing the consenting processes
- Civil engineering design input
- Construction and contract management
- Collating and preparation of completion documentation for s224 applications
- Working with and coordinating other Inovo team members and specialist external consultants to deliver projects
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard
- Fostering relationships with contractors, clients, other professionals

Our Surveying Intern will support our survey team with field and office tasks, including setting up and operating total stations, GNSS/GPS units, drones and scanners; collecting boundary and topographic data; processing field observations; and assisting in drafting survey plans. You’ll gain insight into cadastral and construction set‑outs, resource consent processes and how survey information feeds into engineering and planning decisions.
We’re looking for someone who
• Is currently studying towards the Bachelor of Surveying (BSurv) at the University of Otago or another accredited surveying qualification (2nd or final year of study).
• Has a genuine interest in land development, enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable using technology and software.
• Demonstrates attention to detail, good communication skills and a proactive, can do attitude.
• Values teamwork, health and safety and continuous learning.
