Burnham School Redevelopment
Project Management
With a goal to provide modern teaching spaces, breakout spaces for small group learning and a better environment for teaching and learning, Inovo joined the Burnham School Redevelopment team as Contract Administrator and Engineer to the Contract.
The construction was split into three separable portions:
• Block 1 refurbishment with six teaching spaces
• Block 2 refurbishment with three teaching spaces
• Portion 3 being a new school carpark and entrance to the school.
All projects were staged to ensure construction activity had minimal disruption to the live environment of the school. Inovo developed key relationships with the staff and project team to ensure a smooth transition into each refurbished teaching block.
Other considerations that were carefully managed to maintain safe and continued school operations included building services, construction deliveries and health and safety.
The Burham School Redevelopment Project was awarded a regional silver award in the Education Sector at the 2024 NZ Commercial Project Awards.
This renovation significantly uplifted the school environment, increased enrolments, and created a sense of unity and belonging among students and staff.
