The Rolleston Town Centre project has transformed Rolleston Reserve into a vibrant town centre and focal point for the Rolleston community.
The project included the development of a new 2600m2 civic library building, commercial developments, a town square and promenade with connecting laneways, new roading, traffic control and infrastructure, LPG direct energy scheme upgrade, multiple carparks to service the developments, and major refurbishment of existing sports fields into a town reserve. Together with the creation of the Town Centre itself Selwyn District Council also developed a new central Health Hub directly opposite their headquarters building.
These high-profile public projects are key anchors of the Selwyn District Council’s Long Term Plan. Inovo undertook the design management and project management for the development of the Town Centre master plan. The infrastructure design had to take into consideration the capacity of the surrounding existing infrastructure, while designing for maximum future capacities. The subsurface infrastructure includes new water, sewer, data and power throughout. The team have also worked closely with the private sector to coordinate provisional gas and communications pipework, and conduits are included in the design to service both the development and the wider Rolleston community.
Inovo also provided Project Management support to Selwyn District Council for the Selwyn Health Hub project. The Council brought Inovo on board to drive the project from the concept stage through to completion. Inovo was engaged by the Council to manage all of their tenant stakeholder engagement to ensure that CDHB, Pacific Radiology Group and the General Practitioners design requirements were incorporated within the base build design. This ensured that the base build allowed the tenants to undertake their desired fit outs with minimal adaption of the building. In this role Inovo fostered key relationships with CDHB personnel and ensured information was been available for CDHB decision gateways. Regular monthly update reports were provided to each tenant to ensure that they are kept informed of the progress on site and had the opportunity to review and ask questions as construction progresses.
