Amuri Irrigation Company (AIC) invested in upgrading from an open channel network to a pipe scheme to distribute water to shareholders within the Amuri Basin command area. Inovo was engaged as the project and programme managers for the scheme upgrade covering around 28,000 hectares over five distinct branches.
The project involved the installation of 130km of GRP and HDPE pipe, construction of separate intake structures and fish & debris screens, 11 new combined pumping stations, 32 individual pump stations, 160 offtakes and two storage ponds, all within a 12-month construction window, with minimum disruption to the landowners.
Inovo worked closely with the irrigation company team, design engineers and the main contractor to plan out the works, manage the procurement process and the day-to-day administration of the project. Inovo also assisted with coordinating the conversion of on-farm infrastructure to take from the new piped scheme.
Inovo was subsequently engaged by AIC to manage the installation of an additional 5km of pipe and a new water storage pond for the Waiareka Irrigation Scheme.
On completion of both project Inovo was engaged to undertake a review of the survey data, complete additional survey work and preparation of easement documentation over the new scheme.
